Building Strong Minds, Strong Bodies, and Strong Character
Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! The PTA at Marshall Road Elementary strives to sponsor many projects and events that help provide a more enriching learning experience for all of our students. Your membership support and donations are vital in ensuring the continuation of great activities such as:
Field Trips Chess Club Cultural Arts Assemblies
Student Scholarships Classroom Supplies Teacher Grants Dr. Seuss Night
Arts Enrichment Earth Day Family Fun Nights
Enrichment Classes and Camps Teacher and Staff Appreciation Fitness Warriors
Foreign Language International Night Pastries for Parents
Ice Cream Social Fitness and Wellness Activities Junior Great Books
Walking/Biking Wednesdays Technology Upgrades
We can’t do any of this without you, so please consider joining or donating today!
There are three major opportunities to support the Marshall Road community this year:
- Annual membership dues are an important part of our fundraising to support our school programs; these funds enable us to operate as a PTA at the most basic level. You can join online at http://marshallroadpta.org/join/ Dues are $10.00 each for MRES teachers and staff. For families and friends, dues are $15.00/individual or $25.00/couple; we encourage both parents to join. Please contact Amanda DuFrayne at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
- The PTA cannot provide the above activities on membership dues alone; to help supplement these funds you can give to Friends of Marshall Road. To donate send cash or a check (payable to Marshall Road PTA) to the front office [please write Friends of Marshall Road on the envelope]. A suggested amount is $50-$100 per family—please consider donating a comfortable amount for your family. All direct donations are tax deductible!
- Our annual Runathon is November 9, 2018 and is an exciting event for the children, as well as anyone else who joins us to run laps or cheer on our Roadrunners! We earned enough money in the first year to build a track in 2012, and used the contributions from subsequent years to not only support PTA programs, but to purchase an iPad library, digital document readers for each classroom, and other needed school technology and STEM-related materials. More information will come home in the fall, so please watch for it!
