food 4 thought

In the Fairfax County area there are more than 180,000 residents living in or just above poverty. More than 52,000 children in Fairfax County Public Schools qualify to receive free or reduced–price meals. Many times those school meals are the only ones they have. In an attempt to assure that these families in need have adequate supplies of food, Marshall Road Elementary School has partnered with BritePaths, a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing those in need with short-term safety net services and empowering them to work toward long-term self-sufficiency. Through the Food 4 Thought program, Marshall Road ES provides 70+ children in the Vienna community with easy to prepare meals, drinks, and snacks to last throughout the weekend. That’s approximately 840 food items that are packed weekly!

We are accepting donations, large or small, of items in individual packages. We also welcome grocery gift cards or cash donations for assistance in purchasing needed items. All donations (food, cash and gift cards) are tax deductible; simply complete this Food 4 Thought donation receipt.

All food can be dropped off in the Marshall Road ES office. We also have an Amazon Wish List. CLICK HERE or Go to, Accounts and Lists, Find a List, and search Food 4 Thought. Items will be shipped directly to Marshall Road ES.
